Established over twenty years ago in 1985, Timco Distributors Inc. began as a flourishing produce brokerage specializing in watermelons.  Building a familial client base of well-respected grocers, retailers, wholesalers, and foodservice customers, our positive publicity spread through the industry and Timco Distributors Inc. rapidly became one of the foremost watermelon suppliers in the United States. 

By the late eighties, Timco Distributors Inc. underwent a variety of changes to stay abreast of customer demands.  The produce industry had transitioned into a market, which favored direct contact between growers and shippers as opposed to reliance upon brokers.  As a result, Timco Distributors Inc. evolved into a shipping company with frequent communication to our growing sites.  Furthermore, feeling compelled to return the headquarters to the heart of the California farming community; we moved our office to the agricultural Mecca that is the Sacramento Valley. 

By the early nineties, the demand for year-round produce availability was on the rise.  To satisfy our clients’ need to generate summer produce perennially, Timco Distributors Inc. expanded its growing regions beyond California to include several warmer climates: Mexico, Panama, Honduras, Guatemala, Dominican Republic, and Costa Rica.  The acquisition of new growing sites allowed Timco Distributors Inc. to transition into a multi-produce industry which currently offers six types of produce year-round: watermelon, cantaloupe, honeydew, pineapple, tomato, and bell pepper.  With this increase in produce availability and the accumulation of thirteen widely spread shipping sheds, Timco Distributors Inc. quickly assumed the role of an international produce supplier and, in spring of 2006, we adopted a new title to reflect our global scope: Timco Worldwide Inc.

International shipping aside, Timco Worldwide Inc. remains true to its origins through its active and progressive role in the advancement of watermelon as a quality, year-round treat. We are constantly looking for new and efficient ways to bring the consumer the highest quality produce. In fact, Timco Worldwide Inc. is leading the way in watermelon innovation. Our Melon Up! Minis are one of the first brands of the single serving watermelon to hit the market and our development of the Watermelon Works Original Watermelon Juice Drink, the only available liquid refreshment of its kind made in the United States, was recently sold to Sundia.  We have been providing quality produce and market innovations for over twenty years and are still Growing strong.
